You can enable or disable the scrap alerts feature by adjusting your settings:

From the checkboxes next to "new scrapbook notifications," select alerts to enable/disable scrap alerts in orkut.
Remember to click save changes.
Scrap Alerts: Tips and Tricks
- If you enable alerts and then log out of orkut, you'll see an alert for the most recent scrap sent since you last visited orkut..
- If a scrap alert arrives while you're online but you miss it (or ignore it), the alert window will minimize itself. If you click on a minimized alert, it will pop back up. You'll need to click on it again to send a reply scrap. Cick the "X" anytime to close the alert.
- If you choose not to show scrap alerts in orkut, this will affect your settings in Google Talk as well. If you uncheck the box in orkut, scrap alerts will no longer show up when you're using Google Talk.
